Modhalla Nirmala, a native of Appareddipalli, Nalgonda District came to get herself HIV tested when she was 5 months pregnant. She was counseled by the Counselor and sent away to come back for followup. But Nirmala didn’t turn up for checkup.

Never say Die Spirit of Our Outreach workers
Shanti, a resident of Elmineedu, Chityala mandal was referred for HIV testing by a doctor when she was 7 months pregnant. They reached KIMS, Narketpally where as mandatory was initially asked to visit the counselling room. The counsellor has given pre test counselling and she underwent the test.

A Shower of Blessings – Srimantham (A baby Shower program)
In order to increase awareness and demand generation for ICTC services among pregnant women in Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh, APAIDSCON started an innovative program called "Srimantham" ( Baby Shower) for pregnant women. Srimantham is a tradition followed in most parts of south India, where pregnant mothers are given bangles, flowers, fruits and are blessed by the elder women.
