15 PLHIV are placed as Peer counselors in the ICTC centers of APAIDSCON partnering private medical colleges spread across 11 districts of Andhra Pradesh.
These peer counselors are delivering the following services: - Positive ANC counseling by providing psycho- social support
- Provide preventive education
- Counsel on nutrition
- Breast feeding
- Encourage and facilitate ANC positives for institutional deliveries
- Looking after and facilitate for NVP administration
- Spouse testing
- Develop linkages to Estimated place of delivery by linking ambulance service and field staff
- Tracking all the positives for care and treatment
- Refer all the positive to appropriate services and positive net works
